This Upper Street based walking tour visits key radical sites, such as the Sisterwrite bookshop, and the headquarters of the ANC, as well as a pub associated with Lesbians and Gays support the Miners. Islington people were involved in a range of campaigning groups such as Anti Apartheid boycotts, CND Greenham Common protests, and LGTB rights. Find out more about their inspiring stories on this free walk!

This is a free walk but booking is essential.

The walk starts at Islington Town Hall on Upper Street and will finish at Penton Street near Angel.

This walk is funded by Islington Heritage Service to coincide wth Inspiring Islington, a photography exhibition at Islington Museum. Inspiring Islington is on from 5th April to 4th June 2019 at Islington Museum, 245 St John Street, London, EC1V 4NB.
