Islington Guided Walks present a free heritage walking tour in partnership as part of Islington Irish Month, a project by Islington Council in partnership with the London Irish Centre. Explore how Irish immigration changed the Finsbury Park area, from music, pubs and football. The George Robey offered emigrants the opportunity for Irish folk and rock music and sport, including Arsenal. Discover how St Mellitus changed from a Protestant to a Catholic church to accommodate the post war nurses and navvies generation and how the Fleadh Festival at Finsbury Park brought Irish music to a London audience during the 1990s.
