Learn how activist groups in Islington changed the world! Anti Apartheid, CND, LGTB+ rights assocations were based in Islington

This Upper Street based walking tour visits key radical sites, such as the Sisterwrite bookshop, and the headquarters of the ANC, as well as a pub associated with Lesbians and Gays support the Miners. Islington people were involved in a range of campaigning groups such as Anti Apartheid boycotts, CND Greenham Common protests, and LGTB rights. Find out more about their inspiring stories on this free walk, part of the Islington Festival of Walks!

The walk starts at Islington Town Hall on Upper Street and will finish at Penton Street near Angel outside the former headquarters of the African National Congress.
