Tales from the Crypt: A team of volunteers have researched the lives of the people who were buried in the crypt of Holy Trinity Church, Cloudesley Square, Barnsbury, between 1829 and 1854, curatng an exhibition of the fascinating stories emerging at The Cloudesley Centre (Holy Trinity). Exhibition open 26 September to 28 November 2020. Saturdays 11am to 2pm

Islington Guided Walks, the Mayor of Islington’s official guides, has developed a new walk designed to bring to life the characters researched as part of Tales of the Crypt. You will meet Beadles and Builders, Slave Owners and ‘Silkee Dan’, discover scandals of embezzlement and breach of contract, explore marriage and mourningin this lively walk around mid 19th century Barnsbury. The walks start and finish at Cloudesley Square, Islington, 5 minutes walk from Angel tube.

This project has been generously supported with funding from the National Diocesan Fund, The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Culture Seeds.

The walks will follow socially distanced guidelines. Guides will wear masks/visors, and attendees are advised to bring masks and sanitisers. Group sizes limited to 12.
