Live Guided Walk

 Islington has a strong and well established LGBT+ community, with a long history of campaigning.

Starting at Angel tube station and ending at Highbury Fields the walk includes Islington’s many significant LGBT “firsts” such as the UK’s first gay mayor, MP, march and demonstration as well local characters such as Joe Orton and the extraordinary Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. 

This live guided walk is presented by Islington Guided Walks in partnership with Islington Heritage and funded by Islington’s Pride, a Heritage Lottery Fund funded LGBT+ archive project

This walk is free of charge but booking is essential.  

Due to the current Covid pandemic the number of tickets available is very restricted.

Clients are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing advice wherever possible.

Your guide will wear a face shield.
