Event Details

Walk from Richard Cloudesley’s grave at St Mary’s church to his Stony Fields and explore his legacy in Barnsbury.

When Richard Cloudesley died in 1517 he left land, known as the Stony Fields, to the parish of Islington and the profits from this plot of land have funded activities and projects in Islington for the subsequent 500 years. This guided walk starts at St Mary’s, the site of Richard Cloudesley’s tomb and finishes in Cloudesley Square, Barnsbury. We will walk the streets that cover the Stony Fields and see the extraordinary changes that have taken place in Islington and Barnsbury over the last 500 years through the lens of Richard Cloudesley’s bequest.

Please note that numbers are restricted and social distancing requirements will be followed on the walk.

This lunchtime walk will last 60 minutes.
